The new M17/ M18 motorway from Gort to Tuam (53km) had an overall scheme value of €550 million.
This new motorway was a huge boost for the western seaboard area. It enhanced employment opportunities, benefited tourism and helped address traffic bottlenecks at Tuam, Claregalway, Oranmore, Clarinbridge, Kilcolgan and Gort.
The new road was designed to reduce journey times and increase safety while also representing a major step in enhancing regional connectivity in the West. It also enhanced connectivity along the Atlantic corridor and also provides a strategic national link across the country through the M6 Rathmorrissy junction.
Mulligan Fencing erected 80km of Timber Post and Rail in addition to a range of other fence types such as Noise Barriers. We also manufactured and installed gates along the route for farms and access to security sites and ponds.
